The Cape Cod Poetry Review seeks previously unpublished poetry, fiction, interviews, translations and essays. Please paginate your manuscript, and leave a brief bio in your cover letter.
We look forward to reading your work!
The Cape Cod Poetry Review seeks previously unpublished poetry, interviews, translations and essays for Issue VII.
Poetry: In order to drift away from the contemporary drive to write the "pop poem," CCPR aims to publish portfolios of each poet selected. Consequently, to provide greater depth into each poet's work, we are asking that you send 7-11 pages of your best poems. We want your obsessions, your extended lyric, your "Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock," your Cantos. Please send 7-11 pages of your best poems, or one long poem, spanning anywhere from 7 to 11 pages, as an attached document.
Art and Photography: We are always looking for new artwork to include in the journal, and would love to showcase Cape Cod artists. Please recognize that much of the work represented can only be rendered in black and white. Submit up to two pieces of artwork as a high resolution jpeg, and address your submission to the Arts Editor.
Interviews and Essays: Generally, our preferred word count is 5,000 words or less. Before submitting, please query us, with the subject Query in the heading, with a synopsis of your interview subject and/or the exploration of your essay: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please let us know immediately if the piece has been accepted elsewhere. Please do not send multiple submissions. At this time, we can’t pay for material published in the journal, although we will certainly provide payment in the form of two contributor copies.
